Exchange Connections

I attended the Exchange Connections conference in Las Vegas this week. I spoke with a large number of vendors, all of whom were quite favorably impressed with the booth traffic and the quality of the leads they were receiving. This may have been due, in part, to the significant number of attendees of the related conferences that were held concurrently, bringing in a larger number of individuals than might otherwise have been the case had the conference been held as a standalone.

However, I think it's due more to the very dynamic nature of messaging at this point and the growing uncertainty on a number of fronts: the impact of competing data retention strategies, the potential for migration to new messaging systems, the uncertainty being generated by a variety of vendors, the growing push by hosted and managed messaging vendors, and so forth.
