Most Adobe users are not patching quickly
A few weeks ago, Adobe patched a variety of security problems in its Flash and Acrobat software that could be exploited by hackers. Maintaining robust security for both is critical given that virtually every desktop, laptop and notebook in use supports both platforms.
However, Trusteer has published statistics as of this morning that show that the vast majority of Adobe users have not yet patched their machines. For example, only 12.9% of Acrobat Reader users have their security updates enabled and have updated to the patched version; 33.5% of Flash users have enabled security updates and have patched to the latest version.
This means that there continues to be a huge security problem on the Web given that users are not updating in a timely manner.
